I just enjoy reading everyone's reply and try to learn. I benefit more than you can imagine. That is one thing I will try to improve is to comment more on my threads.
after i decide to leave the jehovah's witnesses one day,i will not look for a new religion.
the damage that the wts has caused me leads me to mistrust all men and religion.. i trusted these men from the wts .
i gave up 35 years of my life to find out that the wts is just a printing and real estate corporation disguised as a religion.

I trusted these men from the WTS . I gave up 35 years of my life to find out that the WTS is just a printing and real estate corporation disguised as a religion. The leaders are just a bunch of old men who send out every member to do their dirty work in recruiting other members and the selling of their commercial printing material. They abuse all their members while claiming to be God's ''organisation''.
To me all religions are lead by men who have big egos, need money for their lifestyle,or to seperate themselves from other religions to have their own following.
What religion do you recommend ? Did you give up and decide to never join another religion as long as you live? After the WTS,can you trust again?
i went to the meeting yesterday and found it to be a sad experience.
(i've been fading over the years and down to 2 meetings per month).
i looked around and found that there are no new members.just family members and friends.
I went to the meeting yesterday and found it to be a sad experience.(I've been fading over the years and down to 2 meetings per month)
I looked around and found that there are no new members.Just family members and friends. Most of the teens that I knew as little kids were either disfellowshipped or quit. Most members that started the congregation 35 years ago are either deceased or old. They've all been waiting all these years and still no ''Armageddon''.
The talk was about ''agape''love. How many times has this talk been given?
The new song book is alot better because the songs are shorter( we know how awful Jehovah's Witnesses sing). The Watchtower was boring as usual with all the ''parroted answers''. Everyone loved when little kids answered...... except me! The ending prayer thanked the ''faithful and discreet slave'' for the spiritual food.( I think the food rotted long time ago) Then, they were getting ready for afternoon ''service''.
I feel sorry for any who still believe and go to all these meetings and ''service'' work for nothing. I know that some are happy to be there. But, it has to raise questions to some why things are still the same as when they joined. I just know in my mind that I don't belong there any longer!
we were told that the preaching work was lead and guided by ''angels'' and the holy spirit.. if that is so,why the need for magazine presentations week after week?
why is a half hour spent showing each member what to say and how to respond to certain questions?
why practice presentations when the angels and holy spirit are there to help?.

jehovah's witnesses are the only people that will inherit life on paradise earth.
only jehovah's witnesses have the ''truth''.
the wts is the only ''channel' 'to jehovah.
Jehovah's Witnesses are the only people that will inherit life on paradise earth

The WTS is the only ''channel' 'to Jehovah
Through the ''faithful and discreet slave'' is the only way to understand the Bible
The ''end'' is near
We were all ingrained these beliefs over and over. We believed the WTS.
Most people I know found these ''beliefs'' odd. They didn't have to do much research to come to their conclusion. Today,we are all here on JWN writing about how the WTS mislead us about ''the generation'' change, the change in baptism questions, the ''end times'',and many other false beliefs, doctrines, and practices.
I blame myself for never researching and questioning the WTS. I hold myself mostly responsible for believing these old men from New York. Why did these teaching really feel true to me and not others?
Do you hold any responsibilty for believing the WTS? Wasn't it up to each of us to raise questions when others wouldn't?
It would have to be on a 99 day around the world cruise having too much food, sun, and entertainment. My last meal would be a nice greek salad with lots of bread,a nice cup of lentil soup, a filet well done, baked potato, lots of vegetables, and a cannoli with hot coffee.
I would just fall asleep in my room never to wake up. The Captain would then ask the female show dancers to throw me overboard in the waters of Bora Bora. Then the salty water would just dissolve me into fish food.
terry recently said in one of his posts:.
at the local kingdom hall you don't exist as a person with value, feelings and importance.
you represent a statistic for the "greater good" of others.
TERRY recently said in one of his posts:
At the local Kingdom Hall you don't exist as a PERSON with value, feelings and importance. You represent a statistic for the "greater good" of others. Your service is all that counts.
Terry's comment hit me like a ton of bricks. '' YOUR SERVICE IS ALL THAT COUNTS.''
I asked myself: Why do they really need me at the meetings? Do they really care if I'm ill? Do they really care that I lost my job? Do they concern themselves if one of my family members is in the hospital or passed away? How am I doing financially? Am I tired from work that maybe I need to stay home from the meeting?
I realised the reasons they need me: purchase WTS written material, comment at meetings, give talks, attend assemblies, contribute money, field service, and teach my family members WTS beliefs that will pass onto the next generation. Slave for the WTS and do their dirty work.
THANKS TERRY!

That's not a stupid question!
I got baptised at 15 years old and quit at 18 years old. I had my fun those 3 years I was out and never thought of ever going back.
My cousin invited me to a special talk at a local High School by Leo Greenlees. He talked about the ''end times'' and presented a slide show about the conditions of the world. We all shook his hand like Jesus was walking the earth. I went back to attending the meetings.
Thirty years later,I hate myself for ever going back. I now know that the WTS is just a Real Estate and Book Publishing Corporation. They are nothing but liers and false teachers who abuse their power over every member. They are not God's organisation.
Thank you Simon for this wonderful site. We can all speak our minds without any repercussions.
